HOW TO DESTROY A STOLEN PHONE WHEN YOUR PHONE IS LOST
There’s a way out for every problem. The IMEI number might just be the solution we are all looking for. IMEI means International Mobile Equipment Identity. It is a 15 digit number that uniquely identifies your phone and it is peculiar to a particular phone even if it is the same model. Apart from using it for identification purposes, this number can be used to block your handset when it is stolen. This will render the phone invalid and the thief will not be able to use or sell it anymore. You can get this number now from your phone by pressing *#06# on your phone.
This is how to use the IMEI number. Report the stolen handset to your service provider together with your GSM number and the IMEI number. As your GSM provider blocks your line, they will also block your phone using the IMEI number so that no SIM card can ever work on the phone again. However, if you recover your set and want to unlock it, you will need to use the IMEI number to unblock your phone. On the other hand, a stolen phone can be destroyed using a data base machine known as a centralized equipment identity register (CEIR) that are accessible by all GSM providers.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM YAHOO YAHOO BOYZ AND INTERNET FRAUDSTARS
GPRS/3G Internet Browsing On Laptop/Desktop Using Your GSM SIM Card
Warmest Greetings!
I've got good news for you my readers. For years, we've been subjected to the tyranny of insolent cybercafe operators in various cities across this country. They charged ridiculous rates per hour yet delivered snail speed browsing.
Worst of all, your sensitive data are never completely secure with some of them. I went to a cybercafe to browse one day and after about ten minutes, PHCN struck as usual. Not having reliable UPS, all the systems went off. After the generator was switched on, the systems had to go through a reboot.
Imagine my surprise when I noticed a program called keyboard collector flash briefly on the screen of the PC I was browsing on. Though I didn't know what a keyboard collector was at that time, I knew the meaning of the word 'collector'.
I immediately checked keyboard collector on google and to my greatest amazement, I found out that it is a program designed to record all the keystrokes on a computer keyboard and then replay it for the owner of the computer at his own convenient time.
To make matters worse, this program runs hidden in the background. If you bring up your task manager, you wont see it there. Neither will you see it in add/remove programs in your control panel.
Obviously, it would be wrong to accuse the writers of this software of unethical programming as there are indeed legitimate uses for this software. The blame should be laid squarely on the shoulders of some cybercafe operators who are actually fraudsters using cybercafe business as a front for their nefarious activities.
Yahoo yahoo boys also download these softwares for use in stealing sensitive information from unsuspecting fellow cafe users. This is lent credence by the fact that what I saw in the computer was a trial version of keyboard collector. A yahoo boy will never cough out money to buy the code for the full version.
You can see how dangerous it is to patronize some of these cafes!
However, there is good news as I announced earlier. You can now browse cheaply in your own home, big thanks to our GSM service providers. If you have a laptop or desktop, you can browse right in your own house at the rate of less N12/hour at broadband speed if 3.5G coverage has reached your area.
But even if what you have is just GPRS, the speed is so good that I listen to Internet radio stations from over the world!
